1st John 1-3

11That which was from the beginning, which we've heard, seen with our own eyes, have [beheld], and our hands have handled (Luke 24:39), of the Word of Life 2(for The Life was manifested (John1:14) and we've seen (Him) and bear witness [testify] and [declare] to you that eternal life, which was with the Father and manifested to us) 3that which we've seen and heard we declare to you so you too can have fellowship (partner; partaker) with us; and (truthfully) our fellowship is with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. 4All these things we write to you so your joy may be [fulfilled].

5[And] this is the message (promise) we've heard of Him and declare to you, God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship (are partners; partakers of; enjoy; realization of) with Him and (yet) walk in darkness, we lie and don't know the truth; 7(However) if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have (partnership; are partakers; enjoyment) with (each) other, (the family of God), and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, has cleansed (removed) us from all sin (unbelief).

8If we say we have no sin we are deceived and there is no truth in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse us form all unrighteousness (wickedness; ungodliness; lawlessness). 10If we say that we have no sin we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

21My little children, I write these things to you so you will not (be wicked; ungodly; lawless). And if any man (does) sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous (innocent; holy; just); 2and He is the propitiation (atoned; appeased; fulfilled for us) our sins and not only ours but the sins of the entire world.

3(Hereby) we [perceive] that we've (come) to know Him, by the keeping of His (divine will; His word; the law of Christ). 4He that (claims) to know Him and doesn't keep His (divine will; His word; the law of Christ), is a liar, and the truth is not in HIm. 5But whosoever keeps His word in (that person) (truly; certainly; really) is the LOVE of God (divinely working); by this we know we are in Him (Acts 17:28). 6He that (claims)[God] (lives) in him should walk just as [Jesus] walked. 7(Beloved) I'm not writing a new commandment to you, but the old (one), from the beginning. The old commandment (of love)(John 13:34) which you've heard from the beginning. 8(But) (one that is of the old and new) commandment I write to you, [that] which is true in Him and in you because the darkness is [passing away] and the true light shines. 9He that says he's in the light (but) hates his brother, is (still) in darkness, even now. 10He that loves his brother (has) [knowledge; fellowship; constancy] in the light and there is no occasion of his stumbling. 11(However) he that hates his brother is in, and walks in, darkness and doesn't know where he's going because darkness has blinded his eyes.

12I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for His name's sake. 13I write to (the aged and those in authority) because [you know from experience] Him that's from the beginning. I write to (the) young men because you've overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you've known the Father. 14I've written to you, (the aged, and those in authority) because [you know] Him that is from the beginning. I wrote you, young men, because you are strong, the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the wicked one.

15Do not love the world nor the things in (it). If any man loves the world the love [toward] the Father is not in him. (Note: the LOVE of God is not the ruling principle in their lives). 16(Because) everything in the world, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life (vainglory; bragging; showing off), (does not come from) the Father, butis of the world. 17And the world (will) pass away and (all) the lust of it; but he that does the will of God abides forever.

18Little children, it's the last [hour] (period of suffering and struggle before divine victory) and you've heard the antichrist will come, even now their are many [walking in the guise of Christ] which (reveals) it is the last [hour]. 19They (call themselves Christ-like) but are not; if they were they would still be (in fellowship and in unity) (concerning Christ's death and resurrection) with us; but they (being not partakers with us) are (revealed) as not of us. 20(However) you have an [anointing] from the Holy One and you all know, 21I haven't written to you because you don't know the truth but (rather) because you know it and that no lie is of the truth. 22Who is [the] liar but (the one) denying that Jesus is the Christ? He that denies the Father and the Son is anti-Christ. 23Whoever denies the Son doesn't have the Father (either); he that acknowledges the Son has the Father too. 24(So) let that abide in you that you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you,you too will (be united) with the Son and in the Father. 25And the promise that He promised us is eternal life. 26I've written to you concerning those that [lead astray]. 27(However) the anointing you've received (from) Him abides in you and you don't need men to teach you; but His anointing teaches you of all things and is the truth, not a lie and is even as it was taught to you, (it's imperative) you abide in Him.

28And now, little children, abide in Him (so) that, when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His [presence]. 29If you know He is (innocent; holy; just) you know that everyone who does (justice and is impartial) is born of Him.

31Behold, what (sort; quality) of LOVE the Father has (given; bequeathed) on us that we should be called (named) the children of God; (so) the world doesn't know us because it doesn't know Him. 2Beloved, we are the children of God and it hasn't yet (been made clear) what we will be, yet we know that when He (does) appear, we will be like Him; for we will see Him (just) as He is. 3And every man that has this hope in Him purifies Himself even as He is pure.

4Whoever commits sin (breaks; violates) the law; for sin is the (breaking of; violation of) the law. 5and you know that He was manifested (in a fleshly form) to take away our sins and in Him is no sin. 6Whoever abides in Him (opposes) sin; (those) who (embrace) sin have not seen nor know Him. 7Little children, don't let any man deceive you, he that does (uprightly; blameless; virtuously) is (holy; innocent; just) just as He is (holy; innocent; just). 8He that (embraces) sin is of the devil; because the devil sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested; that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, for His seed remains in Him and He cannot sin, because He is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not (justice; lawfulness) is not of God, nor is he that doesn't love his brother. 11(Because) this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should LOVE each other. 12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brothers were righteous. 13Don't marvel, beloved, if the world hates you. 14We know that we've passed (out of) death into life because we LOVE (one another). He that doesn't LOVE (the family of God) abides in death. 15whoever hates his brother is (one who sheds innocent blood) and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (he's unsaved). 16By this we perceive the LOVE of God, because He laid down His life for us; we ought to lay down our lives for the (family of God). 17But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother in in need and (refuses to have) compassion for him, how can the LOVE of God dwell in him? 18My little children, let us not LOVE in words (only) nor in (bragging) but in our (actions) and in truth. 19And by this we know we're of the truth and will assure our HEARTS before Him. 20(Because) if our HEARTS condemn us, God is greater than our HEARTS and knows all things. 21Beloved, if our HEART doesn't condemn us; then our confidence (boldness) toward God (is assured). 22(So) whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep (do) His command (love each other) and do those things pleasing in His sight. 23This is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and LOVE (each other) as He (commanded). 24And he that (does) His commandments dwells in Him (Jesus) and (Jesus) in him. And by the Spirit whom He has given us we know He abides in us.
