Hebrews Chapter 1-5

11God, who spoke in many (stages of revelations and in many different ways) in the past to [our] fathers by the prophets, 2has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made [all creation]; 3who, being the (absolute)[reflection] of His glory and the [exact representation of God], and (maintaining and guiding) all things by the word of His power, when He'd [cleansed us from all sin] (took the place of honor and authority) on the right hand of the Majesty on High, 4(becoming)(superior to) the angels, having (earned through His suffering) a more excellent name than they.

5To which of the angels did (God) say at anytime, "You are my Son, this day I have begotten you"? And again, "I will be to Him a Father and He will be to me a Son"? 6And again, when He brings the first begotten into the world, said, "And let all the angels of the world worship Him".

7And of the angels He said, "Who makes His angels spirits (wind) and His ministers (angels) flames of fire". (note: the angels submit even to being changed into elements). 8But to the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the [the straightness] of righteousness is the [straightness] of our kingdom. 9You've loved righteousness and hated [lawlessness]; so God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows". 10And, "You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands. 11They will perish but you remain and they will all become old (like) a garment does, 12and as a [wrap around] you will fold them up and they will be changed; but you are the same and your years will not [end]". 13But to which of the angels said He at anytime, "Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool"? 14Aren't the (angels)(appointed servants) sent forth to (serve) them who will be heirs of salvation?

21So, we ought to give [abundant](attention) to the things which we've heard, lest at anytime we should [lapse from the truth]. 2For if the word spoken by angels (in service) was [proved sure] and every [violation] and [refusal to hear] receives a just (and correct punishment), 3how will we escape if we (refuse) the great gift of salvation which was first spoken by the Lord and confirmed (proved) to us by them that heard Him, 4God also bore witness (with additional testimony)(of) signs, wonders, (various) miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will?

5(Because) He hasn't put (under) the angels the subjection of the world to come of which we speak. 6(As a matter of fact) one testified, saying, What is man that you are (considerate; attentive) of him? Or the son of [Adam] that you [care for and regard] him? 7You made him little lower than the angels; crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of your hands (the earth: man has dominion); 8you've put all things in subjection under his feet; without exception; nothing is unsubjected to him. We don't see it now (but it is the fulfillment of prophesy in Jesus life, suffering and death). 9However, we see Jesus, who was little lower than the angels (because) (born under the law) suffered death and (though death and humiliation) you crowned Him with glory and honor that He, by the grace of God, should taste death for every man. 10(Because) it [fit the designers plan] for Him, for whom and by whom are all things, to the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11For He that sanctified and they who are sanctified are all one, (so) He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12saying, "I will declare your name to my brethren in the midst of the [congregation of saints] will I sing praise to you". 13And again, "I will put my trust in Him". And again, "Behold I and the children whom God has given me". 14(Because of this), then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also [in like manner] took part (also), that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, (meaning) the devil, 15and deliver them who, through fear of death, were all their life time subject to bondage.

16(Because)[truthfully] He didn't take on the nature of angels but took on Him the seed of Abraham. 17(So) in all things it (was needful for) Him to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make (Himself an offering] for the sins of the people. 18(Because) He has suffered being tempted, He is able to help them that are tempted.

31(So), holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our (profession of faith; calling; vocation), Jesus Christ, 2who was faithful to (God) who appointed Him, (just) as Moses was faithful in all his house. 3However, this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses (just as) he who builds a house has more honor than the house. 4Every house is built by some man, but He that built all things is God. 5Moses, [indeed], was faithful in all his house, as a servant (to be) a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 6But Christ as a son over His own house, (and) we are His house if we hold fast (to the) joyful confidence and firm hope (in Christ) to the end.

7(So), as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear His voice, 8don't harden your hearts, [provoking God] (as) in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9when your fathers put me to the test, proved me and saw my works 40 years. 10So, I was grieved with that generation and said, 'they do err in their hearts and they have not known my ways'. 11So, I swore in my wrath, 'they will not enter into my rest'". 12Take heed, beloved, that their isn't an evil heart of unbelief in any of you, (that will separate you) from the living God.

13But [advise; comfort; entreat] one another daily, [while the salvation of Christ is still attainable], [in case] any of you be hardened through (deceit; tricks; stratagems) of [unbelief]. 14(Because) we are partakers of Christ, if we hold our confidence (as we did) in the beginning, stedfast to the end, 15while it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice and harden not your hearts, as (the children of Israel in the wilderness, murmuring)". 16(Because) who, when they'd heard did provoke? Didn't all that came out of Egypt by Moses? 17(And) with whom was He grieved 40 years? Wasn't it with them that [served other gods] whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? 18And to whom did He swear they wouldn't enter into His rest, but those that didn't believe? 19So we see that because of unbelief they couldn't enter in.

41(So) let us, [in trepidation be watchful] (in case) any of you should (fall) short (of) the promise, [still remaining], of entering into His rest. 2(Because) unto us was the [good news proclaimed], as well as to them; but the [message] didn't profit them, it wasn't mixed (with) faith in them that heard it. 3(So) we who have believed do enter into rest, as He said, "As I've sworn in my wrath, if they will enter into my rest (believe); (yet some don't believe) [even though] the work was finished from the foundation of the world. 4(Because) He spoke in certain places of the seventh day (like this), "And God did rest the 7th day from all His work". 5And (here) again, "If they will enter into my rest". 6(This provision wasn't for nothing) some must enter into it; (yet) to whom it was first [proclaimed] didn't enter because of unbelief. 7Again He [declares] a certain day, saying in David, "Today", (after this long interval), as it said, "Today, if you will hear His voice don't harden your hearts". 8(Because) if Joshua had given them (the divine ideal of) rest, then he wouldn't have spoken of another day afterward.

9(So) there remains a rest to the people of God (believers). 10(Because) he that is entered into His rest (believes with confidence he's a partaker with Christ)(Hebrews 3:14) he has also ceased from his own works as God did from His. 11(So) let us (diligently) enter into that rest, in case any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12(Because) the word of God is living, powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the splitting apart of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and discerns the thoughts and intentions of the HEART. 13Nor is there anything (created) that's not (obvious; clear; plain) in His sight, (rather) all things are (uncovered; unconcealed) and open to the eyes of Him with whom we have to [give account]. 14(So), (since) we have a great High Priest, that is passed [through] the heavens (and to God's throne), Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast (be confident in) our (profession of faith; calling; vocation). (Hebrews 3:1). 15(Because) we don't have a High Priest who can't be touched with the feelings of our [moral and physical weaknessess] but was (in every way) tempted just as we are, yet without sin. 16(So), let us come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.

51(Regarding) every high priest (selected) from among men is ordained (on behalf of) men in things pertaining to God, so he can offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2who can have compassion on (those) ignorant (of God's truth) and them that are (not following Jesus example) (John 4:6); because he himself is also (besieged) with (moral and physicial weaknessess). 3(Because of this) he should offer for sins for himself as he does for the people. 4No man should take this honor upon himself (except) he that is called by God, just as Aaron was, 5(Just as) Christ didn't glorify himself to become High Priest, but (was called by Him) that said to Him, "Thou art my Son, today have I begotten Thee". 6(Just) as He also said in another place, "Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek; 7who, while He (Chirst) was mortal, when offering up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him that was able to save Him from death and was heard (becaue) He (honored; respected; believed). 8(Even) though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things He suffered; 9and, being (completed), He became the author (captain) of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him, 10called of God a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.

11We have many things to say of (our)(High Priest) and hard to (understand), seeing you are (still babes taking milk). 12(By now) you ought to be teachers, (instead) you need to be taught again (the divine rudiments) of God, having need of milk and not strong meat. (Unable to digest the deeper truths of God's Word, only able to understand the basics of His teachings). 13Everyone who still takes milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe. 14Meat belongs to them that are (matured; ripe), those who habitually use their (perceptions) exercising (it) to discern both good and evil.
