| To Begin we are going to start with the Book of Galatians. Once you get the hang of studying you can study by Chapters, or entire Books or do word or people studies. Word studies Love, forgiveness, or guilt, see list, will greatly enhance your knowledge of God's Word. And people studies which, of course, are done on the people in the Bible, a good start is Jesus Himself. If you have studied Jesus then you might begin in the Book of Ruth, it is a small book.
People Studies: Did you know there were 2 Jezebel's in the Bible?

Word Studies: A word study requires a good concordance with 'A Concise Dictionary of words in Greek and Hebrew'. You hear people say the Bible contradicts itself when in reality it was 'translated' from the Greek and Hebrew. For example in the Hebrew one of the 10 Commandments says in the English Version, "Thou shalt not kill." However, in the Hebrew it is "Thou shalt not shed innocent blood." I think you can see there is a huge difference between 'kill'(destroy evil) and 'murdering the innocent'. So, it is a matter of serious study to understand the Bible properly and, of course, the help of the Holy Spirit.
A good word study begins with the concordance. Look up a word, 'Grace' for example, in your concordance. Now you have a list of verses from Genesis to Revelation to look up and read. If you are using the Strong's Concordance, note the #'s on the right after each verse. Go down the list to John 1:17 (the corresponding # in my Strong's Concordance is 5485 and in the Greek Dictionary in the back. So looking up #5485 in the Greek Dictionary, I find it says, in the Greek, "Graciousness (as gratifying) of manner or act" now note: taken literally, figuratively and spiritually, "especially, divine influence on the heart; and it's reflection in the life; including gratitude: acceptable, benefit, favour, grace, joy liberally, pleasureable, thanks or thanksworthiness". John 1:17 says a lot about grace but it doesn't stop here.
My old dictionary (1927-1931) has such an extensive meaning list that it's too big to put here, but in the meanings I found: "A privilege bestowed by authority; a fate or destiny alloted; the free unmerited favor and love of God".
Word origin: it came from a Latin word to mean 'pleasing'.
Look what you've learned already about the word 'Grace'!! Now with a complete meaning of the word 'grace' you can search the list of Bible verses on 'grace' and you are well on your way to understanding what God truly meant when He said, "By GRACE are ye saved" Ephesians 2:8.
