O , how I love thy law! It is my meditation all day. Through your word you make me wiser than all my enemies; more understanding than all my teachers, because I meditate on your words. You help me to understand more than the ancients because I obey your rules of conduct and go in the direction you set down.

I have, by your grace, refrained from following evil so that I might follow after you. I've not departed from the rules you taught me.

How sweet I find your words! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth. Because of your direction I get understanding and therefore despise the false and fake for I've seen the true and the real. I have seen the clear, clean, sparkling reality up against the murky, muddy and dark lie. Where once I followed that lie, believing it to be true, now that I've studied your word the scales have dropped from my eyes and the ugly thing I followed has been revealed! The ugliness can no longer entice me because I can see it's true shape and purpose.

When I turn my head and look in the direction you are leading me, I see sun, life, beauty, laughter, song, rejoicing and within I see the person I long to be is developing.

Your word teaches we can choose life or death and I understand now, that my choices of sin were destroying me. Now I rise up in the mornings with a smile on my face and during the day laughter spills from my heart. I am no longer bound to the ugly and evil but to you, the King of all things, who truly leads His children to the Light.

Being in awe of the grace it took to save a wretch like me, I pray that I will be gracious to all men and remember from where I came. You lifted me from the pits of hell. May I always remember and give a helping hand to any who are trying to find their way and never judge them. For you've taught me judgment is for the wicked but love, grace and mercy await any who reach out to you!!

As always, my fealty, my King
Your servant

Notes:

Bible Studies with the Lord should be brought down to a personal level. However, you do not want to change the meaning of what is being said to you. The first part of my letter is from the verses in Psalms 119, however, I added to it my own conversation with the Lord, with things I've learned from scripture. See Acts 9:18 and 1 Peter 1:18-25. I study with teachers who TEACH ME to STUDY. And of course, the best teacher of all. Our Lord Jesus Christ.
