2 Thessalonians

11Paul, Silvanus and Timothy,
TO: the church of the Thessalonians in God, our Father and the Lord Jesus Chrit:

2Grace and peace to you from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3We are (compelled) to thank God always for you, (beloved), as it is [deserving] because your faith grows exceedingly and the LOVE of everyone of you toward each other (flourishes abundantly). 4So that we ourselves boast (of) you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure.

5This is (proof) of the (just) judgement of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer, 6seeing it is a [just] thing with God to [repay] (persecution) to them that trouble you; 7and to you who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus (is) revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengence on (unbelievers)(who) don't (hear and obey) the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; 9who'll be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10when He comes to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all (those) that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11(So), we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling and [perfect your pleasure in goodness] and the work of faith with power, 12that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the [graciousness] of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

21Now we beseech you, (beloved), by our gathering together (at) the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, 2not to be (easily)(swerved) in your (thoughts) or be troubled by spirit, word or letter [forged doctrines] as the day of the Lord is present. 3Don't let any man deceive (lead astray; beguile) you by any means; (because) that day will not come, (until) there is a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, 4who (pits himself against) and exalts himself above (the one true God) or is worshiped so that he is, like God, sets in the temple of God,, showing himself that he is God. 5Do you remember when I was with you, I told you these things? 6Now you know what (holds him back) from being revealed before his (appointed) time. 7(Because) the mystery of iniquity (massive lawlessness) does already work; only He who hinders now, will continue to hinder until He is taken out of the way. 8And then will the wicked one be revealed and consumed with the Spirit of the Lord's (breath) and with the brightness of His coming will destroy, 9even, him whose coming after the workings of satan with powers, signs and lying wonders, 10and with (acting power to mislead)(any) who received not the LOVE of truth, so they could be saved. 11And (because of) this God will send (to unbelievers) strong delusions (causing) them to believe THE lie, 12(bringing) all those into judgment who (refused) to believe the truth but took pleasure in (the deceit)(lawlessness).

13However, we are (obligated; duty bound; compelled) to give thanks always to God for you, beloved brethren of the Lord, because god has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through (your faithfulness and purity belonging to God and Him only) and by the spirit and belief of the truth, 14to which He called you by our (teaching), to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15(So), (beloved), stand [firm] and hold the (teahings; message) you've been taught whether by (our) word or by our (letters). 16Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God, our Father who has LOVED us and has given us everlasting (solace) and hope [has given grace], 17comforts your HEARTS and [confirms; strengthens] you in every good word and work.

31Finally, (beloved), pray for us that the word of the Lord may [run] and be glorified, even as it is with you, 2and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; (because) not all men have faith. 3But the Lord is faithful who will [confirm; strengthen] you and keep you from evil. 4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you will both (agree with) and (execute) the things we (taught) you. 5And the Lord direct your HEARTS into the LOVE of God and into the patient waiting for Christ.

6Now we (sent this message to) you, (beloved), in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you withdraw yourselves from every (Christian) that walks disorderly and not after the (teachings) (they've) received of us. 7(Because) you know for yourselves that you ought to follow us; because we don't behave ourselves among you in (unruly and ununited manner), 8nor do we eat any man's bread (without giving something in return) but (worked) with labor and (exhausting work) night and day that we wouldn't be a (burden) on any of you; 9not (just because it is right) but to make ourselves an example for you to follow. 10(Because) even when we were with you we (taught) you, that if any man wouldn't work, he shouldn't eat. 11For we've heard that there's some who walk among you, doing no work and are busybodies (stirring up trouble). 12Now them that are such we (teach) and (urge), by our Lord Jesus Christ, that (they stop being busybodies (stirring up trouble)) and work and eat their own bread. 13However, (beloved), don't be weary in well-doing (just because some take advantage don't stop helping everyone). 14And if any man doesn't (hear and) obey our word by this (letter) note that man, don't keep company with him, so that he will be ashamed. 15But don't treat him as an enemy but (advise; warn; set right) as a brother. 16Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

17The salutation of me, Paul, by my own hand (rather than a secretary like person) which is the (signature; seal) in every (letter) I write. 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
